Changing Higher Education
Categories:
Chancellor Eric Fingerhut made news on Tuesday when he publicly declared his intention to submit a proposal by January 1 to develop a higher education "system" in Northeast Ohio. Unfortunately, his remarks didn't get any attention from the news media until today. WCPN aired a report on his remarks here. It's definitely worth listening to. He also made similar comments to the Youngstown Vindicator, and you can read their story here. Fingerhut said he will be counting on the Northeast Ohio Universities Collaboration and Innovation Study Commission to help him shape the reform proposal. The commission is one of the initiatives under Advance Northeast Ohio. It will be very interesting to watch Fingerhut's reform proposal take shape.
