New Web Site Helps Region's Job Seekers and Employers
Categories:
Searching for a job is stressful. The Internet can be a helpful tool in finding job listings, advice, and potential employers, but with so many web sites devoted to the job hunt, it is tough to tell which sites are providing the best advice and correctly placing the right employee with the right employer. WhereToFindHelp.org, a new web site launched by the Regional Talent Network (RTN), helps eliminate the clutter by creating a one-stop site for job seekers and employers. WhereToFindHelp is a directory of Northeast Ohio organizations that is designed to do two things:
The site is not a complete directory yet; it is designed as a wiki, allowing Northeast Ohio's organizations and employers to easily create content on the site to describe how they can help and how those who need their services can contact them. David Shute, the regional director of the RTN, emphasized that the site is an evolving work in progress that will provide a greater benefit the more involved employers and employees are at generating useful content. “The success of WhereToFindHelp.org will depend in part on the willingness of the service providers of Northeast Ohio to add their content to it. This online tool is the perfect way to showcase and make accessible the complex talent development system of Northeast Ohio to the people and employers who need its help,” Schute said. RTN is inviting all organizations that serve employers, job seekers, and people seeking to upgrade skills and enhance their employability, to go to the site and add information about their services and resources. The RTN is a collaboration among several partners in Advance Northeast Ohio, including the State of Ohio, the Fund for Our Economic Future, and the metropolitan chambers of commerce of Northeast Ohio – Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce, Greater Akron Chamber, Greater Cleveland Partnership, and Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber. The RTN’s purpose is to improve the region’s ability to prepare residents for jobs and to fill high-demand positions. Trackback URL for this post:http://38.98.53.40/trackback/628
