Upcoming Meeting: Northeast Ohio Citizens League (NEOCL)
Categories:
The Northeast Ohio Citizens League (NECOL) will be hosting its second "formation" meeting on August 4, 2008 from 3:30 - 5:30 p.m. at the Cuyahoga County Library - Parma-Snow Branch, 2121 Snow Road, Parma (between State and Broadview). NEOCL believes its time to reintroduce the voice of citizens in policy decision-making and that citizens should be actively involved in shaping the emerging regional governance structure in Northeast Ohio. The first part of our Core Energy Group meeting will be dedicated to a conversation around the principles and values underpinning the of idea of citizenship and civil society. The second half of our time together will include break out groups creating ideas around civic education and engagement activities for 2008-2009. These conversations will help form the vision, culture and impact of the Northeast Ohio Citizens League (NEOCL), the region's missing link in the economic development and community improvement lanscape. For more information, contact Mike Gesing at mike@neohio.org or Georgia Reash at communitytransitionpartners@gmail.com. Our Akron meeting is scheduled for August 21st and the Youngstown gathering is in development. More information to follow.
