We Need a University on This List
Categories:
Fortune Small Business recently ranked the top colleges for entrepreneurs. Sadly, there's no Ohio university on the list. Sadder yet, Ohio's universities didn't make the cut in any of the other categories either, including family business and social entrepreneurs. The Burton D. Morgan Foundation recently awarded grants to support entrepreneurial education at area colleges. But it will likely take a few years for those grants to create significant impact. Advance Northeast Ohio calls for the region to foster entrepreneurship education. And the Dashboard of Economic Indicators highlights the importance of entrepreneurship to growing an economy. The Dashboard and Fortune's ranking shows that even though Northeast Ohio is working on this issue, there's much more work needed. There is definitely a lot going on in many universities in Ohio when it comes to entrepreneurship training. One of the issues I see is that many of these college/universities are not doing a good job marketing what they have to offer. Hopefully the new collaborative will change this.
